Position Description

Integrative Pediatrics is looking for a Nurse Practitioner who believes in: Honoring informed consent, treating your infants, children and adolescents like our own. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Provides primary healthcare to children and young adults in collaboration with physicians and other providers.
  2. Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of common pediatric illnesses, minor traumas, chronic conditions, and behavioral problems.
  3. Performs health histories, physical examinations, sports physicals, and makes referrals as appropriate.
  4. Order and interpret diagnostic laboratory and radiology tests, order and interpret age-appropriate screening tests, prescribe age-appropriate medications, and provide counseling and education of children and their families.
  5. Formulate a family-centered healthcare plan recognizing the child and family as active participants.
  6. Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of prescribed treatment plans.
  7. Performs other duties as requested by the clinic manager.
  8. Follow established standards of practice within the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Graduation from an approved school for Nurse Practitioners.
  2. Experience in a clinic or ambulatory setting preferred.
  3. National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  4. State licensure as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner.
  5. Prescriptive authority in the state of Oregon.
  6. Able to lift 30 pounds
  7. BLS Certification

 

 

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

 

  1. Ability to function in a variety of roles such as healthcare provider, consultant and/or educator.
  2. Demonstrate practice consistent with professional standards, including State Board of Nursing regulations for advanced practice nurses.
  3. Maintain clinical competency through continuing education and modify practice consistent with current practice guidelines and clinical recommendations for primary healthcare of children.
  4. Assume accountability for professional actions, including incorporating risk management strategies into clinical practice.
  5. Ability to develop a quick rapport and maintain long-term relationships with patients and families.

 

SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP:  Physician/Office Manager

Employee agrees to access patient’s protected health information only as required to complete necessary required job duties.  Employee will follow the minimum necessary rule as mandated by HIPAA.
