Course Description:

The telemedicine landscape is ever evolving with newly mandated telemedicine training (Substitute Senate Bill 6061) for all Advanced Practice Nurses in Washington State, beginning January 1, 2021. This continuing education webinar will provide required training with an overview of telemedicine and current Washington State and Federal policy that influence care delivery by telemedicine. Practice standards and essential components of telemedicine visits that are critical to safe and responsible care by telemedicine will also be discussed.

Objectives: 

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

1. Describe the opportunity for Advanced Practice Nurses to reduce health disparities and advance health equity through telemedicine.
2. Identify technology and contemporary issues that influence quality outcomes and value in clinical care.
3. Discuss the current Washington State and Federal policy that influences the dissemination of care delivery by telemedicine.
4. Describe the essential components and practice standards of telemedicine encounters for safe, efficient, and effective care.
