Mary Osborn holds the distinction of being the first nurse practitioner in Idaho. Her pioneering work in Stanley, Idaho, not only shaped the role of nurse practitioners statewide but also influenced national discussions on training, scope of practice, prescriptive authority, and reimbursement. In addition to advancing the Nurse Practitioner profession, Mary collaborated with Idaho EMS to train hundreds of volunteer EMTs, playing a crucial role in establishing emergency medical services in rural communities.
MaryEllen Biggerstaff will present her newly published book, Radical Nurses: 28 Stories of Resistance, Reform, & Revolution.
