We would like to invite you to participate in a study to understand how online tools and data display (e.g., graphs) can support (1) women experiencing menopause in tracking and understanding their health and (2) information-sharing and collaboration between women's healthcare providers and their patients experiencing menopause.

We are reaching out to Nurse Practitioners (e.g. ARNPs, FNPs) because you provide care to women in various settings and may benefit from having important information about women's health in their daily life that may not be captured accurately or at all during their clinic visits. This rich information could benefit healthcare providers like you in their plan of care for women experiencing menopause. Also, we are investigating ways to display this rich, longitudinal information in a way that is immediately understandable and supports your workflow.

You would be eligible for this study if you:
  • Are a women's health care provider age 24-65 years
  • Are actively practicing in women's health in Washington State
  • Have experience working with menopausal women
  • Can speak and read English
  • Can write
  • Do not have medical conditions that interferes with engaging in drawing and reading activities (such as a visual impairment like glaucoma)

What will happen during the study:
You and a group of 4-12 other women's health providers will meet for about 2 ½ hours to come up with ideas for ways to picture health information for an online tool. Individually and as teams you draw ideas. Teams will then share and talk about their ideas.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the lead researcher, Uba Backonja PhD RN, at menotrac@uw.edu or (617) 294-9193.
