Free Waiver Course to Treat Opioid Addiction

Members of AANP can apply for the waiver to prescribe buprenorphine to treat opioid addiction after completing this free on-line course.

AANP has collaborated with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to provide the required 24 hours of education, which allows NPs and PAs to apply for the waiver as quickly as possible.

You can now register for the required education in the AANP CE Center. AANP has accredited 24 hours of CE credit, including 18 hours of pharmacology credit.

At the completion of this course, you will be able to:

Apply for a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine to your patients with opioid use disorders
Identify and assess patients who are appropriate for treatment with medications
Understand the use of medications to manage patients with addiction involving opioid use
Discuss the psychiatric and medical co-morbidities associated with opioid addiction
