SHB 2264 Died in Committee

Posted over 7 years ago by Louise Kaplan

It is disappointing to announce that Substitute House Bill (SHB) 2264 which would have added advanced registered nurse practitioners and physician assistants to the state's hospital privileging law died in Rules Committee on March 2, 2018. Despite our best efforts and the hard work of our lobbyist, Leslie Emerick, we were unable to have the bill sent to for a vote by the full Senate. While most hospitals seek information regarding ARNPs and PAs comparable to waht the law requires be obtained when hiring and privileging physicians, the law does not require it. SHB 2264 would have made this techinal correction to the law. We will consider asking to have the bill reintroduced next year.  Thanks to all of you who assisted in this effort and to our lobbyist, Leslie Emerick.
