The application for the UW Graduate Certificate in Palliative Care is due May 1st! This innovative, interprofessional curriculum is one of the few programs nationally designed for practicing healthcare professionals from nursing, medicine, social work, spiritual care, and other disciplines to train together in palliative care principles and skills.

Jointly offered through the UW Schools of Medicine and Nursing, this certificate is ideal for the working professional. During this 9-month graduate certificate, our world-renowned faculty use weekly interactive distance learning(webinars, online modules, discussion boards, etc.), peer and faculty mentoring and quarterly in-person workshops to help participants develop their expertise in three key areas of palliative care practice: person-centered communication, interprofessional team training, and systems integration. In addition, the certificate course includes VitalTalk® training, which is a highly regarded national model for expert communication skills about serious illness.
