Nurse Practitioner Awareness Training

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will be hosting four one-day virtual training sessions entitled, DEA Diversion Nurse Practitioner Awareness Training. This educational activity is designed only for nurse practitioners who are certified to prescribe controlled substances. The same virtual session will be held on all four days from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (EST), 12:00 pm to 4:00 (CST), 11:00 am to 3:00 pm (MST), and 10:00 am to 2:00 pm (PST). Participants may only register and attend one session. Each session will have a maximum capacity of 3,000 participants. Each session will close once registration capacity is reached. It is recommended you register as early as possible.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will receive CE credits and should be better able to:

  • Understand the state of the Opioid Crisis today and identify current drug trends
  • Learn where to locate DEA regulations and other resources
  • Recognize drug diversion and learn about healthcare fraud schemes
  • Understand prescribing and applying DEA record keeping regulations

This activity is approved for 3.70 contact hour(s) of continuing education (which includes 0.00 hour(s) of pharmacology) by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners®. Activity ID# 22025371. This activity was planned in accordance with AANP Accreditation Standards and Policies.
