March 16th virtual roundtable to focus on 2SSB 5195 implementation - distribution of naloxone
Posted over 3 years ago by Louise Kaplan
The Washington Legislature passed a bill in 2021, 2SSB 5195, that went into effect on Jan. 1, 2022. It requires hospital emergency departments and many behavioral health settings (e.g., inpatient psychiatric units, psychiatric hospitals) to dispense or distribute opioid overdose reversal medication (e.g., naloxone) to patients at risk of an opioid overdose for individual use after discharge.
WSHA will host the Opioid Overdose Reversal Medication Roundtable: A Discussion on 2SSB 5195 Implementation from 12:00–1:30 p.m. on March 16, 2022. We will provide updates from the current legislative session, hear from community partners and discuss implementation with a panel of hospital representatives from across the state.
