Section 108 of the 2021 federal No Surprises Act requires the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of the Treasury to issue a proposed rule implementing the provider non-discrimination provision of the 2010 Affordable Care Act. In preparation for that rulemaking, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) asks that you report to msra@aanp.org instances of discrimination by health insurers against NPs. Any documentation is helpful to include. Please ensure that you redact any patient information prior to sending. AANP is working with other national professional associations.  Please contact AANA, ACNM and NACNS to provide documentation of provider discrimination if you ae a CRNA, CNM or CNS.

When you submit information about provider discrimination, please send a copy to Louise Kaplan at  kaplanlouise@gmail.com to support ARNPs United of Washington State's effort to obtain parity reimbursement.
