Your help is needed: Take action to define Advanced Practice Nursing Programs as Professional Degrees.

Posted 6 days ago in AUWS News

The Department of Education has released a proposed rule that would exclude advanced practice nursing programs from the definition of professional degree — limiting student access to federal student loans to support their education. If made final, this will deter future students from pursuing careers as ARNPs, just when our nation needs us most. Comments must be received by March 2.

AANP President Valerie Fuller, PhD, DNP, has issued an important message to all NPs regarding this proposed rule, calling the rule “deeply concerning” and “a decision that will limit access to care for patients and weaken our nation’s health care workforce.” It’s time to take action during the public comment period. Submit your comment through the AANP Advocacy Center today! Once you have composed and submitted your letter you will need to provide a confirmation code to authenticate your submission. You may have to wait several minutes for that confirmation request to appear in your email, so be prepared for a wait of a few minutes before you can complete the submission!
