Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) are among the most common complications of pregnancy and postpartum, yet they remain underdiagnosed and undertreated. This lecture equips Nurse Practitioners and healthcare professionals with the tools and knowledge needed to identify, support, and treat families affected by PMADs, enhancing care quality and outcomes. Key objectives include recognizing major risk factors for perinatal mental health problems, identifying practical screening tools, and reviewing best practices for treatment, referral, and local support resources.
