Overview
In this session on asthma, attendees will gain an understanding of the underlying mechanisms of asthma with a focus on pathophysiology, inflammation pathways, and asthma triggers. Tyler will review GINA guidelines for adult asthma management, focusing on pharmacologic treatments, non-pharmacologic interventions, asthma action plans, and lifestyle changes. Attendees will develop effective methods for educating patients about asthma self-management, including recognition of symptoms, trigger avoidance, and the importance of treatment plan adherence.

Tyler is an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner at Overlake Medical Center & Clinics - Pulmonary Medicine in Bellevue, Washington. He attended Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree in 2010.
