Overview

Primary Care Providers can prescribe medications for addiction treatment and help their patients function at their best. This presentation will help you prescribe competently with finesse. We will discuss FDA-approved medications for Alcohol UseDisorders and Opioid Use Disorders. This session will help you select appropriate medications to improve your patients' quality of life and provide appropriate patient teaching. Buprenorphine is the most often prescribed medication for opioid use disorder recovery; and you will learn how to prescribe and instruct on it for the very best outcomes.

MaryAnne Murray DNP, EdD, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, CARN-AP

MaryAnne Murray does psychiatric and substance use disorder care on Washington's Long Beach Peninsula. She works in settings which integrate primary care and mental health care, and precepts graduate nursing students from multiple universities. She is passionate about addiction recovery and creating high quality rural health care.
